Relax and unwind in the Rainforest Retreat, an architecturally distinctive, hand-crafted cottage nestled in a lush native rainforest in lovely Volcano Village, adjacent to Volcanoes National Park. Elegantly designed and furnished, with rich, wood interiors, the cottage is a quiet and secluded respite from the tensions of mainland life.

The cottage provides: a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove; a sleeping loft in the treetops with a queen bed; a comfortable futon couch/double bed in the bay window of the living room suitable for another person or couple; a charming full kitchen and dining area; and a lovely sky-lit bathroom with windows opening to the forest.

Wander the paths of this serene, magical retreat, 3800 ft above the sea on the slopes of Kilauea, the most active volcano on earth. Unwind in the outdoor, covered soaking tub after a day spent hiking and exploring Volcanoes National Park. Your hosts, who live on site, have created the retreat in this primal and sacred place, and they invite you to share in their aloha 'aina, the love of the land.

The Rainforest Cottage rents for $200 single/double / $185 for three nights or more. Add $20 for each additional guest. All accommodations include breakfast of tropical fruit and fresh baked goods, granola and quiche.

TAXES:
Rates are subject to two Hawaii taxes totaling 11.416%:
General Excise Tax ( GET ) of 4.166%; and
Transient Accommodations Tax ( TAT ) of 7.25%.

RESERVATIONS:
A 50% deposit is due within 14 days of the reservation, with the balance payable 30 days prior to arrival. Payments may be by check, money order, MasterCard or Visa.

CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellation with 60 or more days notice will result in a refund of monies paid, minus a 10% cancellation fee. With less than 60 days notice, refunds will be based solely on the ability to rebook the reserved dates; again minus the cancellation fee.
