Cabin in the Tree Line is a beautiful and gracious country retreat on the west slope of Kohala Mountain, on large and secluded acreage with truly magnificent views - on a clear day you can see the islands of Maui, Lanai, Kaho'olawe and Molokai, all in a spectacular 180 degree panorama. Your days can be serene or filled with activity. You may choose to lounge in a hammock listening to the music of the wind in the ironwood trees. Or, when feeling more adventurous, go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and sightseeing in the most beautiful ranch lands of the Big Island. Your host, Chris Wej, who lives on the property in a second cottage, is available for private tours, or to arrange for any activities of your choosing.
This remarkable house has old-country charm, yet with 21st century conveniences and amenities. The dramatic living room with its cathedral ceiling features a huge stone fireplace (working, of course!) and comfortable leather furnishings, as well as TV/VCR and a sound system with CD player. The master bedroom with its comfortable king bed also features the beautifully tiled, ensuite master bath. And the upstairs sleeping loft with its two twin beds is the perfect space for an additional one or two family members or close friends.
The kitchen is spacious, sunlit and inviting. While the appliances look old-style, they are actually high-tech-- the refrigerator, freezer, gas oven and range are top-of-the line, with beautiful Koa wood accents. This kitchen provides a table and chairs for dining, and all appliances and dishware/flatware necessary for the preparation and serving of gourmet meals.
This beautiful and secluded property is rural in charm and feel, but just a 5-minute drive to the lovely artist's colony of Hawi, with its many fine shops, galleries and restaurants. Cabin in the Tree Line is also only 20 minutes to the shops and gourmet restaurants of the Parker Ranch town of Waimea. And another 20 minute drive will take you to the best white sand beaches on the Big Island, and the shops, restaurants and health spas of the Kohala Coast resorts.
RATES:
Cabin in the Tree Line rates start at $185/night single/double occupancy. $25/night for each additional occupant to a maximum of 5.
TAXES:
Rates are subject to two Hawaii taxes totaling 13.416%:
General Excise Tax ( GET ) of 4.166%; and
Transient Accommodations Tax ( TAT ) of 9.25%.
RESERVATIONS:
A 50% deposit is due within 14 days of the reservation, with the balance payable 30 days prior to arrival. Payments may be by check, money order, MasterCard or Visa.
CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellation with 60 or more days notice will result in a refund of monies paid, minus a 10% cancellation fee. With less than 60 days notice, refunds will be based solely on the ability to rebook the reserved dates; again, minus the cancellation fee.
